Terms & Conditions
The basics of joining a class at HipHop-Natyam Studios — what you sign up for, what you pay, what we promise, and how we handle the unexpected. By enrolling, you agree to these terms. Please read them.
01Enrollment & 90-Day Commitment
We offer two enrollment structures depending on the discipline:
Monthly classes ($69 per month, all-in)
- Yoga-Natyam, Kids Bollywood, Women's Bollywood, Priya Pilates (Thursday and Saturday), and HipHop-Natyam Kids (intro to Hip-Hop dance).
- Billed at the beginning of each calendar month for that month's classes.
- You may cancel at any time before the next billing date — no questions, no fees. Cancellations after the billing date take effect at the end of the current paid month.
- Missed classes are not refunded but may be made up by attending another class of equal or lower price within the same month, subject to availability.
90-day commitment programs ($207 per quarter, all-in — billed every 13 weeks)
- HipHop-Natyam Choreography, Bharatanatyam (Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced), and Women's Belly-Natyam.
- These are structured curriculum programs: each cycle covers a defined progression of material that builds week over week. Mid-cycle entry is generally not possible because new students cannot follow the choreography.
- The $207 fee is paid up front and is non-refundable after the first class of the cycle. We hold a spot for you for the full 13 weeks; we cannot resell that spot mid-cycle.
- If you withdraw before the first class of the cycle, you are entitled to a full refund.
- Missed classes during a 90-day cycle may be made up within the same cycle on a space-available basis.
- Students who complete a cycle have priority enrollment for the next cycle at the same price.
Bharatanatyam, Belly-Natyam, and HipHop-Natyam Choreography teach cumulative material — week 6 builds on week 1. A predictable cohort lets the teacher pace the curriculum and lets students earn a real result in the time-frame. Drop-ins and month-to-month don't work for these formats.
02Payment & Refunds
- All fees are payable in U.S. dollars by card or other accepted payment method.
- Monthly fees are non-refundable mid-month. Cancel before the next billing date to avoid the next charge.
- 90-day fees are non-refundable after the first class of the cycle, except where required by law.
- Returned-payment / chargeback fees passed on by our payment processor will be added to the outstanding balance.
- If a class is cancelled by the studio, we will either reschedule the class or apply a pro-rated credit to your account. We will never keep payment for a class we did not deliver.
03Liability & Waiver
Dance and movement training carry an inherent risk of injury. By enrolling, you (or, if the student is a minor, their parent or legal guardian) acknowledge and accept that risk and agree to the following:
- You confirm the student is in good health and physically able to participate. If a medical professional has restricted physical activity, you must disclose those restrictions to us before the first class.
- You release HipHop-Natyam Studios, its instructors, employees, and contractors from liability for injuries sustained during ordinary participation in classes, practice, performances, and studio events, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- You agree to follow instructor guidance and studio safety rules at all times.
- You will receive a separate waiver form to sign at enrollment. Participation is contingent on a signed waiver on file.
04Photo, Video & Social Media Consent
We frequently photograph and record classes, recitals, and events for our social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), our website, and promotional material.
- By enrolling, you grant HipHop-Natyam Studios a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your image, voice, and likeness in studio promotional content.
- For minors, we require a separate signed parental consent form before any image of the child is published. We will not post identifiable images of children without that signed form on file.
- You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing the studio. We will remove the relevant content from studio-controlled channels (we cannot retrieve content already shared by third parties).
- Students are welcome to film themselves in class for personal practice. Filming or photographing other students or instructors without their consent is not permitted.
05Class Cancellations & Schedule Changes
- The studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to instructor illness, weather, holidays, or low attendance. We will notify enrolled students by email as soon as possible.
- Cancelled classes will either be rescheduled within the same month / cycle or credited.
- Public-holiday closures are listed at enrollment and on the studio calendar.
06Accessibility & Property Notice
HipHop-Natyam Studios occupies a second-story space at 160 East Third Street, Pittsburg, CA. The building is not ADA / wheelchair accessible. There is a flight of stairs at the entry and there is no elevator. Please contact the studio before enrolling or visiting if you or your student have mobility needs so we can talk through what is and isn't possible in the current space. We are actively looking for a fully accessible building and will update this notice when we move.
Outside the studio space, public sidewalks, restrooms, and parking are managed by the building owner and the City of Pittsburg, not by us. We can answer questions about our class spaces but cannot make changes to the building itself.
07Code of Conduct
To keep the studio a safe and welcoming space for everyone, students, parents, and visitors agree to:
- Respect instructors, staff, and fellow students.
- Arrive on time and wear appropriate dance attire.
- Not photograph, film, or distract other students or instructors without permission.
- Not bring outside food or drink (other than water) into the studio space.
- Refrain from any behavior that disrupts class or makes others uncomfortable.
The studio reserves the right to dismiss any student whose conduct repeatedly violates these standards. In the case of dismissal, refunds (if any) are at the studio's discretion.
08Costumes, Props & Performance Materials
- For performances and recitals, students may be required to purchase or rent a costume. Costume costs are separate from class tuition and disclosed before purchase.
- Studio-owned costumes loaned to students must be returned in the same condition. The student is responsible for the cost of cleaning, repair, or replacement of damaged or lost items.
- Choreography, music edits, and original works created by studio instructors remain the intellectual property of the studio. Students may perform them under studio direction but may not republish or repurpose them commercially without written permission.
09Privacy
We collect only the information you provide (name, email, phone, payment details where applicable) to operate the studio. We do not sell or share student or parent information with third parties for marketing purposes. Payment data is handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers on our systems.
10Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated by email to enrolled students and posted at the top of this page. Continued enrollment after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
